Born and trained in Glasgow Rob felt the urge to check out the English soon after qualifying as an optometrist, first moving to Manchester then to London. He took over Panoptica in 1998 after having worked there since the early ‘90s. His first priority was to boost the services on offer – from interesting and sometimes unusual frames to all types of contact lenses, ground breaking treatments for dyslexia and colour blindness to general ocular health including the right diet.
Although he’s been in London for 15 years now his Scottish accent remains and even when they’re not playing well, he continues to support the Scottish rugby team. His children can’t understand this and keep trying to convert him to premier league football.
